W/AV

The Problem

Streaming made music infinite, and forgettable.

Algorithmic feeds, on-screen everything, and an endless library have flattened how we listen. Music has become background fuel — something to scroll past on the way to the next thing.

But it's not just about the music, it's about the experience of listening to music. Why can't we have a streaming device that feels like playing our favorite records?

W/AV is a response to that: a dedicated piece of hardware built around the act of listening itself, instead of another touchscreen.

The Product

A music player you can feel.

W/AV is a dedicated streaming device with hefty knobs, physical buttons, and a waveform display showing your music in real time. The interface is intentionally limited — no apps to bounce between, no notifications, no algorithmic suggestions. Just the song, and the controls to shape it.

  • Tactile controls — knobs and buttons sized for muscle memory, not menus.
  • Waveform display — a visual readout of your music like an oscilloscope, letting you see your music in real time.
  • Design that belongs — make it a piece of furniture you want to display, that your friends can play too.

My Role

What I'm doing on W/AV.

I'm leading everything for W/AV, from the brand identity to the product design to the marketing. Right now, my focus is translating the device's tactile, analog-leaning ethos into how the brand looks, sounds, and reads.

  • Brand identity — wordmark, type system, color, tone of voice
  • Trailer (above) — shot selection, concept, edit, and motion direction
  • Waitlist landing page at wavmusicplayer.com
  • Product design & development — getting the device to a minimum viable product that actually works

Process / In Progress

Work in flight, on purpose.

W/AV is pre-launch. What's shown here is honest about that — early versioned renders, build shots, the waitlist page, and the trailer. We're looking for partners to help us get the product to market. If you're interested in partnering with us, please reach out to [email protected].

Where It's Going

W/AV has its own home.

The full story of the device — specs, build logs, and the waitlist — lives on the standalone site. Head there to follow along as the product gets closer to launch.
